Old man. Snoring

November 20, 2009 at 2:59 pm (what was she thinking) (, , , )

It is Friday, I am wearing jeans that are probably from the 1990’s (what year is it anyway?), a ponytail, and glasses and YES, I feel pretty.  It is cloudy and dreary and chilly in the world outside of my window and I’ve spent a good amount of time talking and typing people’s ears off with my current weather report, scientifically based on the flag perched atop the building across from my 20th floor window.

“Woaaah!  Looks like it is getting wiiild out there, dude.  The flag is choking its pole!”

“Look at that flag go!  Sure looks windy out there.”

I am a genius.  Don’t hate.

So, blah blah blah, work, blah blah, dreaming of being in my doggy’s arms, eating the vegan cupcake waiting for me at home, and watching horrible tv (uhm, James Franco is on General Hospital, WHY AM I HERE) . . . which leads me to what I am perving around on the internet for lately.

Survey says . . . cozy bamboo items!  I found some of the softest bamboo undiepants at the Green Festival and of course they only had size HUGE for HIPPY (just kidding!  I’m a hippy, we’re all hippies!), so I was unable to purchase them.  Usually, unrequited lust quickly becomes obsession for me.

Therefore, check out some of this cozy dreamwear (some of etsy’s finest) that I hope will get on my body someday soon.

Fashion + function.  Built-in bib/crumb-catcher meets cozy, pretty top meets incredibly realistic mannequin nipples.

I don’t really wear beanies, but I might start.  New fashion icon:  Johnny Depp.

Leggings are totally pants.  Shutup.

Cute dress with maximum space for food baby expansion.

And, finally, the addition of cute little side bows keeps you from looking like a complete jerkface in these yogini pants.

Now get shopping (for me!).  I will be waiting on my couch, eagerly awaiting your arrival/gifts.

You can watch the thirty days episode about animal rights here.  I just watched it.  I’m all verklempt.

It is a really good episode (very educational . . . as they all seem to be).  Watch this show at least once if you haven’t already, no matter what the topic!  I even learned some things that I had never really known before, which is saying a lot since I have done tons of reading on food, diet, and the associated industries.  In summary, an avid hunter named George goes to live with a vegan, activist family and work at a factory farm animal sanctuary (the one referenced in my last post).  He isn’t a dim-wit or extremely impressionable or anything, and the format of the show isn’t framed in a propaganda sort of  way, like how you might expect.  I like this show because it is really more about exposing people to things that they might not have known about before and seeing how they process the information.  New experiences bring compassion and understanding.  Those things are priceless to me.

Oh, and be careful if you have a hard time seeing disturbing images, like I do.  I stuck with it for this episode, but it was difficult.  I keep trying to think about the sweet animals they were able to rescue to avoid tearing up.  My dog also kept trying to watch with me and I had to shield her eyes from traumatic images!  Yes, I am a crazy animal person.  But to be fair, one of my other favorite episodes of this show was one where a conservative Christian man goes to live with a Muslim family in Michigan.  I guess I am a crazy lover person.  I’m okay with that.

p.s. This is the little buddy that the hunter ended up rescuing and nursing back to health.  Love.  I can’t take it.

Bless Kanye West

I’ve been so caught up in trying to clean up life messes, that I have forgotten how much I love Kanye.  Yes, that is what I said.   Sometimes you have to forget about shit, shitty people, shittiness, and your two-week long shitty headache and take a moment out to enjoy the truly amazing people of the world.

I am My Favorite Rapper

And a music video showing Kanye modeling various man scarves:

I purchased a really cool black & white photograph with a poem typed onto it with a typewriter (I think) from this woman at Indie Mart.  I love love love it.  It makes me happy.  I am special.

I have library duty today and must work the day and evening away, sigh!  I wish I could be roasting on a black blanket at the beach with my bff.  Another day, another dollar.

My wallet was stolen.  And my money and money I don’t have and my identification and transportation pass went with it.  My accounts are frozen until further notice.  A lot of my things are in the trash.  I have roughly 7 dollars to my name at this moment.  I have regrets.  I am happy in a weird way.  Strange feelings.  But I am taking a break from things, I suppose.  Reading is nice right now.  And brushing my hair and kissing my dog and napping and taking care of things.

I want to watch this film.  Like I really, really want to watch this film.

Fever Rising

My adorable and savvy friend Nan found the perfect place for me to get married.  SO WHAT IF I’M NOT ENGAGED . . . trifles.

At Malibu Nature Preserve  all of the proceeds go back to preserving the habitat and they work with a caterer that whips up delicious vegetarian and vegan food.
